The most anticipated and challenging piece will be this piece of counted cross sticth of pooh is finally done in the span of up to 3 to 4 weeks time. Regardless of small or big problems, obstacles and discouragement are being posed as stumbling stones for me. For example, starting from scratch with an empty cloth to the lack of strings to the re-doing of steps. Most importantly, i had to rely all on my own to complete this piece for this time round. It really requires a lot of time, patience, determination. Even though the process was tough and tedious, it ends up a fruitful experience leaving me with great satisfaction and sense of achievement.
I started off with this :D

With the image in mind, i started off by creating the outline with back stitches and back hoops to end off when the thread runs out.

The outline is out ! :D In my opinion,outlines act as the main pillars for cross stitching. They gave me the rough idea where should i start and end with the thread in my hand.

It's time to begin on the little details (the eyes, nose, smile)

Last and foremost, the colours ! Colours make things alive. It also makes everything complete.

As what I expected, it really trains you from your metal self to your physical self. It stretches your patience, determination and passion to the maximum. If you aren’t strong enough, you will have given. It also exercise your concentration, your eyesight, your wrist. It doesn’t only mould your characteristic, it also make you a more flexible person :D
Small and common it may seem;
Beautiful pieces it also bring;
Tedious and tough is what it is;
Satisfying masterpieces are under its weaves.

Proceeding on to the more challenging and complicated designs of cross stitching.
I chose to start it off with the stamp cross stitch , which means the cloth given is already printed with the design of the cross stitch.
All you have to do is to stitch up the colours. This may sound easy and quick.
However, the real thing speaks a different story.
That's when the skill of your stitching and level of patience are put to test.
People whom are clumsy like me, would prick their fingers often if they choose to stitch their design without the embroidery hoop. =x This piece took me a week to complete @_@ there's so much more for me to learn and discover :D

1st successful piece that i've done after 2weeks of learning :D
Step 1 : Have an image in your mind.
Step 2 : Calcualte and measure the amount of space needed for each stitch.
Step 3: Kick starting with the very first diagonal stitch on the cloth

Step 4: Completing the 1st red balloon with cross stitching.

Step 5 : Repeating step 3 and 4 for the blue balloon.

Step 7 : Repeating step 3 and 4 again for the green balloon.

Step 8 : Completing the whole image with the balloon strings with purple thread with back stitches.

And it's done ! :D

- The video for it.
Relaxing and slacking it potrays;
Amazing stories from within;
Sincerest confession of a crafter;
Moulding the life of this potter.

It took me 2 whole weeks to actually overcome my fear for needles and familiarise myself with the different stitching method by my aunt.
Different stitches :
1. Backstiches - Outlines, Wordings

2. Half stich - Smaller Areas

3. Full stitch - Bigger Areas
4. French stitch - For the eyes
5. Cross stich - Basic stitch

For the video, please go to

french knot.-
cross stitch."Cross stitching isnt about perfection but making the imperfections perfection;
it isnt about quality but the effort put in."
Complicated stories it may tell;
Ever changing mood swings it may play;
Yet it teaches us the simplest reasons;
Of life's goodness.
